About the product

Looking for an escape from the comfort of your own home? The Scent Passport is for you!

Every two months we create a new limited-edition candle exclusively for our Passport holders. Each new scent is tied to a specific real world travel destination, taking inspiration from that locations culture, cuisine and aroma. Every Scent Passport release is hand poured in small batches and never be made again.

Each delivery comes with a sample tin. Use the sample to decide if you wish to burn the full size candle. If it’s not for you, you can return it to us for free for a full refund.

What's in the box?

Every two months you'll receive:

  • A limited edition candle
  • A scent card including information on the destination and scent notes
  • A sample tin to try before you burn the full size

Your first delivery will include a R+W refillable candle, then a candle refill for each future release.

How to use

Burning your candle

  • Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the jar each burn to prevent pooling
  • Only burn your candle for 4 hours at a time
  • Keep your wick trimmed to 1/4 inch before each lighting
  • Keep your candle free of any foreign materials, including matches and wick trimmings
  • Only burn your candle on a level, fire resistant surface
  • Stop burning your candle when only 1/4 inch of wax remains

Safety: To prevent fire and serious injury, burn candle within sight. Keep away from drafts and vibrations. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never burn candle on or near anything that can catch fire.

Refilling your jar

Refilling your jar is super easy. Once 1/4 inch of wax remains at the bottom, clean out your jar using warm soapy water and remove the wick placer. Drop the refill into the jar, light and enjoy. Better for you, better for the planet.

Shipping and returns are FREE with every Scent Passport release.

To be eligible for a return, your main candle box must be unopened and you should request a return within 14 days of receiving your candle. Once you have requested a return, you will have a further 14 days to return your candle.

  • Purchase a Scent Passport

    Every two months we hand make a new and exclusive candle fragrance for each of our Passport holders. It costs £30 every two months and it’s free to skip or cancel any time.

The Archive

Exclusive access to previous releases

In addition to our bimonthly scent releases, Scent Passport holders have exclusive access to the the Russell + White Archive.

Returned candles are stored in controlled conditions at the our HQ - these make up the Russell + White Archive.

Passport holders are welcome to purchase candles from the archive whenever they wish.

FAQs

When will I receive my order?

The Scent Passport is a bimonthly subscription, meaning you'll receive an order every two months.

Each release is shipped on the second week of the month. However, please be aware that the actual delivery date may fluctuate, depending on the specific season (e.g. Christmas is a very busy period, so we would expect some delays in the post office).

If you purchase a Passport after a release, you'd receive your first delivery on the next release date. For example if a release month was August, you'd receive your first delivery with the October release.

Do you offer samples?

Every Scent Passport release ships with a free scent sample tin. You can try the fragrance at home, before deciding whether or not to break the seal on the main candle.

If it’s not for you, simply fill in this form and follow the instructions to return the candle back to us.

How long do I have to return my candle?

At Russell + White, we operate a 14-day return window.

To be eligible for a return, your main candle box must be unopened and you should request a return within 14 days of receiving your candle. Once you have requested a return, you will have a further 14 days to return your candle.

Do I get a full refund when I return my candle?

We will process a full refund for any returned Scent Passport releases that arrives back with us, so long as the seal on the main candle box hasn’t been broken.

Please allow up to 10 days for us to check your return and process the refund.

How can I cancel my Passport subscription?

You are welcome to cancel your Scent Passport subscription at any time.

If you’re not ready to receive an upcoming order, you can request to skip a season via your subscription portal. Navigate to your account, click Subscriptions and you'll be sent to the portal.

All Passport cancellations must be made in advance of the billing day for the next release, which falls on the first day of each release month. Without this notice, our efforts to keep waste to a minimum are compromised.

How do I change my delivery address?

You can manage all of your details via your subscription portal. Go to your account and click Subscriptions.

Can I skip a release?

We understand there may be a reason you need to skip a release. Skipping a delivery will stop you from being charged for one release, and you will not receive that release's candle.

If you’d like to skip a release, you can do so via your online portal anytime before you are billed for that release - billing day will always be the first day of each release month (August, October, December, February, April and June).

Can I buy an extra candle from a release?

We produce small-batch candle scents exclusively for our Passport holders.

Since we only produce a very limited supply of candles each season, we cannot guarantee you will be able to purchase any extra candles.

That being said, please feel free to reach out to us after receiving your candle, and we'll check to see if there are any remaining after all our Passport holders have received theirs.
