Chypre

Patchouli

Pogostemon cablin

Patchouli is deep, warm and a little bit addictive — earthy woods with a dark, ambery hum. It’s often used as the “glue” in fragrance, giving chypre, woody and amber blends their shape and staying power. Native to Indonesia and Malaysia, its dried leaves are steam distilled, then aged for months to smooth out any bitterness.
